The scientific ground exists, but it is narrower than the mythology often admits. Recent studies show strong changes in brain organization under DMT, with increased connectivity in networks linked to imagination, emotion, memory and perception. This does not prove that a person left the body or entered another dimension; it proves that the substance deeply alters how the brain builds experience.

Or are we seeing common limits of human perception when chemistry reorganizes the brain?
